Tunetorch Pro
Tunetorch's core features are free for good. With a Pro subscription you unlock additional features and support further development. While Tunetorch is still in development, Pro is free (see below). After that, these prices apply:
| Where you live | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| EU, EEA and Switzerland | €2.99 | €29.90 |
| United Kingdom | £3.49 incl. VAT | £34.90 incl. VAT |
| Rest of the world | $3.49 | $34.90 |
The EEA (European Economic Area) covers the EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The EU price applies there too.
All prices are final prices. Only in the US and Canada is sales tax added at checkout. Which price applies to you depends on the country of your billing address, not on the language of the website. Outside the EU area, Pro costs a little more because a different payment provider with higher fees handles the payment there.

Pro doesn't unlock any audio features. Loudness normalisation, the equaliser, original quality, audiobook mode, offline downloads and DLNA casting are all included in the free edition. Pro is about the size of your installation, convenience while curating and supporting the project.
You can always get your music out. The normal export is completely free, whether as a ZIP to download or as a folder on the server, original or converted. The same goes for the companion database
.ttdbl, with which you pass your carefully kept information on to others. Only the two convenient ways to move a whole library including the music in a single file depend on the subscription: the.ttdband the export of the whole database.
What you've set stays set. If a subscription expires, your installation looks as it did out of the box again. But your colour scheme, your layout and your server name stay saved and apply again immediately as soon as Pro is back. Nothing is reset and nothing is deleted.
Pro doesn't take anything away while curating either. You can always edit metadata, cover art, biographies and line-ups by hand. Pro saves you work but doesn't unlock any fields. And whatever you've taken over once, such as a biography from MusicBrainz or cover art you found, stays in your library for good, even if the subscription expires. Without Pro, only the looking up goes away, never what's already there.
Priority support
If you write to us via the contact form from an account with active Pro, your request is marked as a priority in the support inbox and dealt with first. You don't need to state or tick anything for that. All that matters is that you write while signed in, because only then can we match your request to your subscription.
Otherwise everything is the same as for everyone else: the same address, the same topics, the same attachments.
Development phase: Pro is free for now
Tunetorch is still being built. You can already get Pro now without payment details and at no cost, try out all the features and support development with your feedback.
Before we start charging for Pro, we automatically cancel all subscriptions from this phase. So you'll never be charged anything without being asked. After that, you decide afresh whether you want to keep using Pro. Your account stays; only the subscriptions from this phase are deleted.
How to activate Pro
- Create an account on this website.
- Add a server: under My servers you enter your installation and get a connection
code in the format
TT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. - Enter the code: in your installation under Server settings → Tunetorch Pro. Your server then checks in with us once, and under My servers the dot next to its name switches to Connected. The input field then disappears, because the code has been redeemed and a second one would only overwrite the connection. If you want to move the licence to another server later, first choose Disconnect there. Then the field is back.
- Get Pro: now the button is enabled. Before that it stays greyed out. A subscription for a server that has never checked in would go nowhere and might later trigger a charge for an installation that doesn't even exist.
After you've got Pro, your installation fetches the new status by itself, once a day. You can switch over immediately on the Tunetorch Pro tab with Check now. The website reminds you of that after unlocking.
The tab shows the same card, with Pro or without. Like My servers, it answers two questions separately: Connection (Connected as soon as the code is redeemed) and Subscription (Pro or Free). Below that are the server name, the Installation ID, “Licensed to: <your email>” and the last and next check. If your server is connected but still running on Free, a note above the card tells you what to do: get Pro on the website and check again here.
The installation ID is the code you entered. It's on the card because the input field disappears after connecting and because we ask for it in support. It isn't a password. Your server also identifies itself with a key of its own that changes regularly and that neither you nor the interface ever get to see. With the code alone, nobody can view or take over your subscription.
The Term only appears with an active subscription, and in plain words: “Runs until 15/09/2026 · 12 days left”, “Cancelled — ends on 15/09/2026 · 12 days left” or “No end date”. Without Pro the line is missing, because there's no term. You'll find the same information in the overview of the server settings too.
How the licence works
Pro is unlocked for the installation, not for individual users.
Your installation regularly checks its licence status with tunetorch.de. In doing so, it only sends its ID. Your music, your library and your usage data never leave the server.
The check copes with outages too: the response is cryptographically signed, and your server verifies the signature itself. If the website can't be reached at the moment, the last status fetched stays valid for several more days. So if your internet goes down, Pro stays on.
On first contact, the website binds the licence to your server. If another device tries to use the same code, the tab reports a conflict, and you can set up the connection again.
On your installation's Tunetorch Pro tab you see under Last check when the last check happened and whether it worked. If it didn't, the reason is shown too (for example: website not reachable). That applies to the automatic daily check just as to “Check now”. A failed attempt doesn't change your Pro status immediately. The last status fetched stays in place for as long as the buffer for outages lasts.
Managing
You manage your subscriptions and servers after signing in to your account under My servers. There you can also rename or disconnect servers, or cancel the subscription.
The number of servers you can add is limited. For normal use that's comfortably enough: a server at home, a second one somewhere else and a test installation. Once the allowance is used up, My servers tells you so in plain words, including the number that applies, and Add server stays greyed out. A cancelled server counts as long as it's in the list. With Remove permanently you free up its slot. If you need more in the long run, write to us via the contact form and we can unlock your account.
Each server row answers two questions. At the top, next to the name, is the connection, the coloured dot (see below). Below it is the subscription, Pro or Free, and next to it how long it runs. The two are independent of each other: a connected server can run without Pro, and Pro you've got stays yours even if no server is connected right now.
The dot shows when your server last checked in. Your installation queries its licence once a day, and the colour follows from that. A legend below the list explains the same colours:
| Dot | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green: Connected | Your server has checked in within the last 26 hours. All is well. |
| Yellow: Check-in overdue | No check-in for more than 26 hours. A single missed query is harmless. If it stays that way, something is wrong. |
| Red: No contact | No check-in for more than 48 hours. The server is probably switched off or can't reach the internet. |
| Grey: Not connected | The code hasn't been entered in the server settings yet. |
| Red: Code expired | The code wasn't entered within 24 hours. New code generates a new one. |
With yellow and red, the row also shows when the server last checked in. Your Pro subscription keeps running regardless. The colour only says whether the server can be reached, nothing about what you've signed up for. But if the server doesn't check in for a longer time, it falls back to Free once the buffer runs out, until it reaches the website again.
You remove old servers with Remove. If you've retired an installation or created an entry by mistake, this deletes it from your account for good. The button only appears when Pro is no longer running on the server. As long as paid time is left (even with a cancelled subscription), you have to wait for it to end first, otherwise it would expire unnoticed. If a Tunetorch installation with this code is still running on the machine, it falls back to Free at its next licence check.
Cancelling doesn't end anything immediately. A cancelled subscription runs until the end of the paid period and isn't renewed after that. Then it automatically becomes Free. The server row shows you how long Pro still runs (“cancelled — 12 days left, until 30/09/2026”), and the cancellation dialog names the same date before you confirm.
Your installation finds out about it. The status of the cancellation is included in the signed response your server fetches. The Tunetorch Pro tab then shows “Cancelled — ends on …” instead of “Runs until …”. If you take the cancellation back, it shows the normal term again from the next licence check (the next day at the latest, immediately via Check now).
Changed your mind? Simply take the cancellation back. As long as the period is still running, your server shows Resume subscription. Your subscription then carries on as if nothing had happened. The current period stays as it is and renews on the normal date. Nothing is taken out again and nothing is charged twice.
If the subscription has expired, simply get Pro again for the same server. The entry under My servers stays, and so does the connection to your installation. So you don't have to create a new server or enter the code again. A click on Get Pro again is enough, and the installation has Pro again from the next licence check.
A subscription belongs to the account, not to the device. If you switch servers or generate a new code, the remaining time of your subscription simply keeps running. It doesn't expire just because no server happens to be connected. As long as the connection is open, the remaining time is shown right next to the code, so you know how much Pro is still waiting for you.
Invoices
During the development phase there are no invoices: Pro costs nothing, so there's nothing to bill.
As soon as Pro costs something, you get an invoice by email at your account address for every payment, when you sign up just as with every renewal.
